What are solar panels and how do they work?
The process of converting light or photons directly to electricity is called photovoltaic (PV). A solar panel absorbs photons from the light that has traveled 93 million miles from the sun, and this powerful solar energy knocks electrons loose from their atoms inside the solar panel. The electrons flow through the module to produce DC electricity which is then converted to AC electricity via a PV inverter, producing free green energy for your home and reducing electricity bills.
