Project Overview
Our latest endeavour involved implementing a SolaX AC coupled battery storage system alongside an existing Growatt inverter and 14 solar panels. By combining the 3.6kW SolaX FIT inverter with a 9.1kWh SolaX battery, we were able to enhance energy storage capabilities and optimise solar energy utilisation.
Maximising Solar Energy Utilisation
Despite already benefiting from the Feed-in-Tariff scheme, our client sought to further optimise their solar energy utilisation. With the addition of the SolaX battery storage system, the homeowner now stores and utilises an extra 52% of their solar energy, significantly reducing reliance on the grid and maximising self-consumption.
Intelligent Energy Management
To complement the battery setup and solar panels in Leighton Buzzard we installed a Myenergi Zappi EV charger. This intelligent charger utilises surplus solar energy to charge the homeowner's electric vehicle once the battery is full. Additionally, the Zappi EV charger takes advantage of cheaper tariff rates overnight, further optimising energy usage and reducing charging costs.
Seamless Integration
One of the key advantages of this project was the seamless integration of the SolaX battery storage system with the existing Growatt inverter and solar panels. This allowed for a smooth transition to a more efficient and sustainable energy setup without the need for extensive modifications or replacements.
